Twenty-five bright yellow neon shirts bearing the St. Francis logo could be seen behind the Damon House and beyond on Holden Days this August 24th. Our presence could not be missed. We helped exhibitors to set up and take down their booths, directed buses, picked up trash, and generally guided those in attendance to where they wanted to go.
Mission Ministries organized the St. Francis booth with the theme, “Spread Love.” Our goal was to educate those in attendance about our Food Drive Program at the church and within the community. Information was displayed with regard to all St. Francis ministries. The St. Claire Quilters and knitters displayed a quilt and prayer shawl. Posters explaining our Church School program and Helping Hands Ministry were in plain sight.
Several parishioners helped to man the booth passing out candy, magnets, bookmarks and free raffle tickets. They also talked with those who stopped by to answer questions about our church and mission efforts.
Each year, more and more people in our parish work this event, spreading love and educating Holden as to who we are and what we do! A great big thank you to all who participated.
