As we gather for the Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany, we will hear Jesus speaking to his disciples about living with the blessings of God's divine grace. Luke provides us with a lesson of Jesus teaching on the plain (rather than Matthew's account of the sermon on the mount); and helps us to reflect and consider how this physical location might help us to imagine Jesus's words in an approachable and accessible way. Often the teachings of the Bible can create wonder and a bit of confusion, but in this lesson, Jesus speaks plainly of God's desire for us to desire what God is offering us in our lives. How can Jesus' teaching of blessings and woes be something that helps us in our daily lives?
