Hungry for Music

The ‘Hungry for Music’ concert was a success beyond expectations. The church was full and the performers were wonderful. We give enormous thanks to those who donated their talent. Two soloists, Peter Clemente on guitar and Osman Bilsel on piano, began the concert with some beautiful classical pieces. Laura and Joe Papandrea delighted the crowd with some global music on Violin and Bayan Accordion, including a robust tango. The concert then pivoted to a lighter fare. Erik Gladwin sang, including a tribute to Mother’s Day accompanied on his guitar. He also sang to an azalea plant named Rose (you had to be there). The Heart Beats, an acapella singing group, was fabulous and featured a solo by our own Jena (Bastardo) DelCid. Cassie Blanchett closed the musical evening with her lovely soprano voice. Thanks also to all who donated sweets and drinks for the after party. We raised over $2,400 for our feeding ministries. Apparently, many people were hungry for music! Deacon Jane and Erik Gladwin organized and hosted this event. Erik also was in charge of sound. Thanks to everyone who attended and supported in other ways.
