Heifer Living Gift Market

“Faith Can Move Mountains and End World Hunger”

The Heifer Living Gift Market has been taking place at St. Francis for many years. One need only look at the framed certificates in various places throughout the building to see this congregation’s generosity to this cause over the years. The Market had to be discontinued due to COVID, but Mission Ministries is bringing it back as a Palm Sunday annual event. On the weekend of April 1st/2nd, the second annual gift market took place in conjunction with special programs by the Church School. The children were able to interact with a goat brought in by a local farm in Rutland, and purchase a share of an animal of their choosing.

Heifer International is a non-profit corporation founded in 1944 which educates the poor in ways to make a sustainable living and gives them the tools to get started. Their work spans 19 countries around the world including the U.S. By purchasing a share or shares of an animal, (e.g. a sheep costs $200; a share is $10), water, seeds, or by making a general donation, you will help these people to achieve their dreams of having enough food, supporting their families, and sending their children to school. Thank you for your support of this event.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the

Father of Lights…” James 1:17
