Sunday October 6th marked the end of Deacon Jane’s service with us at St. Francis. During the 9:00 AM “First Sunday Conversation,” she spoke about the deaconate and her future plans as Archdeacon. After taking a short time of rest (including a deacon’s retreat), Jane will be visiting churches in our diocese to tell them more about the training and role of deacons.
During the service, a quilt and a prayer shawl made by members of the congregation were blessed and presented to Jane.
After the service, a beautiful reception was held in appreciation for Jane’s service, both within our community and beyond. We are so grateful for all she has shared with us through her words and with her life. She is truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.
